Dear Potential Member
Thank you for your interest in the Kodak Walking and Climbing Club (KWCC). The KWCC welcomes membership application from anyone who is interested in the Club’s activities, whether or not the work for Kodak. Click here for a membership form.
The cost of joining the KWCC is £15 per annum. This includes KWCC Membership, BMC (British Mountaineering Council) Membership and BMC Third Party Insurance, one copy of the Summit magazine, YHA membership and discounts for purchase at Cotswold Camping stores (http://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com) and now many other stores besides (See the http://www.thebmc.co.uk/).
The KWCC meets every Wednesday night to climb at one of several climbing walls: the regular venues are Brunel University, Uxbridge in the winter and Phasels Wood, Kings Langley in the summer. We do, however like to vary our climbing evenings and we now regularly visit the Westway Climbing Wall in Shepherds Bush, close to the BBC.
The club also has weekend "meets" once every few months in areas such as the Lake District, The Peak National Park, Snowdonia and various venues in England, Wales and Scotland. Every year we organise a week long trip during May, this year, our trip is planned for the Kintail Area in Scotland; the exact venue will be notified to members nearer the time. A list of planned trips is also listed on our Website or contact the undersigned for further information.
All our trips and venues are decided at our December AGM where our new and prospective members are always welcome; this is usually followed with a Christmas curry at a local venue.
INSURANCE INCLUDED IN CLUB MEMBERSHIP
A serious note: The BMC have issued stern warnings about the consequences of lack of third party liability insurance. The cost of this is included in your membership fee. The repercussions of not having insurance are very serious and not having insurance puts pressure on your fellow walkers and climbers. Because of these strong warnings, the club does not allow individuals to climb, walk or take part in trips, associated with the club, unless they are insured. So we look forward to receiving your completed application form!
Find out more about us and see just how much fun we have on our trips via our website http://www.kcctrips.uku.co.uk/.
We not only stay within hostels, but we also camp on some trips in order to have a variety of accommodation and excitement.
If you think you would like to meet us one Wednesday evening and/or you would like a form to join the KWCC, please e-mail me at Rbrtmrmoore@aol.com or rm@aegisworld.com.
We look forward to meeting you soon.
Yours Sincerely
Robert Moore
